About Us

We chose the name Our Country Blessings because it has a two fold meaning. First we feel blessed to live in the USA, the greatest country in the world. Secondly, we feel blessed to live on the family farm and be able to enjoy all the blessings of living in the country.

My husband and I live on the farm where he was born. He’s never had to move, can you imagine that?

Our children have grown up here and now our grandchildren have gotten to roam the hills and swim in the river making the 5th generation to enjoy our farm and the 8th generation to live in this area.

We have a sitting area at the end of our kitchen where we look out over our farm and are able to watch deer grazing in the fields below our house, see mist rising from the river in the morning or watch a bald eagle as it soars above. We even have a ground hog that likes to come out of its den and torment our dogs. The ground hog will stand in the road and look up toward the house. It seems to know the dogs are watching out the window and can’t get to him, so he just stands there as if he’s taunting them.

We do not have a kennel. Our two dogs are part of our family. Cricket is our sweet little Bichon Frise that we enjoy so much and Piper, a Havanese that we haven’t bred.   She is like an aunt to the puppies and loves to play with them.  They both live in the house with us and are part of our family. Some claim to have home-raised puppies but they have a list of different breeds and I would expect if you visited them you would see outdoor kennels with runs. That is not the case at our house. Our dogs have a doggie door that connects the back porch with a large pen when they choose to go out but they live with us.

All of our puppies come with a 2 yr. guarantee against any genetic or congenital defects. They are vet-checked and up-to-date on all vaccinations and de-worming before they come to you at 8 or 9 weeks. You receive a pedigree and pictures of your puppy and siblings chronicling their growth.

It is important to us that these babies receive a good home. We deliver if you live in our area or we will fly with the puppy, taking them in the cabin with us and meeting you at the airport.

Our goal is to find homes for our puppies where they will be loved as much as we love them and where they will bring as much joy and happiness as our dogs have brought to us.

Whoever said money can’t buy happiness, never bought a Bichon.
